My elderly neighbor today had asked my mother if I could help her out tomorrow after school with some stuff and my mother agreed, which I don’t mind. Helping people makes me feel good. But while on the topic of me, my neighbor had said that i was looking "so skinny" and my mother laughed and said that i wasn't that skinny at all, and that i was actually pretty fat, and that i weighed more than all my friends, but that i would be happy to know she had thought i was thin at least...

And it hurts. it hurts so bad because i try so hard...she is always comparing me to other girls, pointing out how i have a fat ass, or no boobs, or that they look soooo much better in something than i would… i can't go shopping with her for clothing anymore because all she does is say the clothing looked better on the "other dummy" *cries her eyes out*

2004-11-16 [Hependipherous]: 15 lbs is nothing! Do not freak out over it. Thin DOES NOT equal beautiful. Did you have such issues before this came up? It's YOUR body, and your being comfortable with it is all about YOUR image of your body. Your mothers narrow view and concept of what she thinks is "ideal" has no bearing on such things. Let's put it this way: In my book (my being a man and being much more qualified to say such things) think you look just fine. I think you could stand to gain a few lbs. *shrugs*
2004-11-16 [Hependipherous]: In other words, you look fine the way you are. And you wouldn't be any less of a person if you gained or lost a few pounds. Looks are superficial anyway... to worry about them so much is to be vain. Vanity is far more repulsive than what you percieve as a few extra pounds.
2004-11-16 [RabidSphinx]: i find body fat the most repulsive thing....i *hate* my body...and if i gained *any* more weight i would seriously kill myself. and this time i would do it right. i would rather be dead than fat again...i cant stand the feeling of my body, i can feel the fat hanging off of me...on my face, my stomach, my arms......it makes me sick to have to touch it...i *have* to lose weight...

Most men, and it's their opinion that really matters, would much prefer their woman to have some meat on her bones. I certainly am not very attracted to the annorexic coke whores that the media is trying to tell me is beautiful. I don't need a TV or a magazine to tell me what beauty is. It's not healthy to think that way, being digusted by your body. It's not natural. You've been brainwashed into believeing that thin = beautiful. In reality, beauty is not determined solely by body weight. It's not as big of a deal as you are making it.
2004-11-16 [RabidSphinx]: it is because i can't stand how is feels i can't stand feeling flab, pudge, blubber...i can't stand it on any part of me...i can feel it under my skin as i move, as a breathe and it makes me sick...and if men think skinny girls are ugly, why are there only thin woman in their porn mags? or other things like movies and such that are geared towards men? i didn't see any fat woman getting guys to turn and check out as they walk down the street

2004-11-16 [Prowler Wolf]: I personally know models who have nearly killed themselves trying to be more beautiful when they look just fine as they are. 97lb women get told by managers that they are gaining weight.... most of those girls eat three cotton balls soaked in orange juice A DAY!!! thats a meal...and they still feel fat
2004-11-16 [Prowler Wolf]: if you do feel super bad about your 'flab' try cutting sodas, candies, and stuff your body dosen't need out of your everyday diet, not saying DON'T eat it, just don't eat it often, work out...jumping rope is a great excerse, walking the dog, walking home from school, sit ups in your room...these are just suggestions, you don't HAVE to do all this. You can make an appointment with teh Doc and see what she thinks the best thing for you to do is.
